We went in for our 18-20 week ultrasound today. It was first thing in the morning at my neighbor's facility. We had a blast! The technician was able to get some fun images which we will be posting soon and the measurements all look good. She said the baby is measuring about 19 weeks 2 days. I will be 19 weeks on Sunday so that is pretty close! In true to our family form, the little booger decided to be stuborn stay rolled up in a tight little ball. Despite all my efforts, I couldn't get the baby to open up so we could see his or her little face but we did see the baby opening his/her mouth and hands and kicking.
Just to taunt everyone, the technician was able to see the gender but as with Joshua we chose not to find out ourselves :-) So it is probably written in our chart somewhere :-) You'll just have to wait!!!

updates
The endocrinologist said I'll my thyroid levels look fine and that is not an issue. He also wasn't too concerned about the lack of weight gain citing my rocky first trimester. I have started to show some. It seems to have corresponded with me drinking more milk. I was really achy last week and asked my two doctors both what they thought the issue was, both agreed on low calcium and low potassium. So I started eating half a banana a day and aiming for 3-4 glasses of milk or yogurt. The combination has cleared up the problem and I think helped to add the extra calories I have been needing. So all is well. The little bambino is moving around a lot these days. I think sometimes she/he has the hiccups, too. Looking forward to the ultra sound at the end of this month.

Appointment on Thursday
It went well. The baby's heartrate is 146 putting him/her around average and close to what I remeber Joshua's to be at that time. I looked up research online to see the correlation between heartrate and gender and found that there is none. A study done concluded that the average for females = 149.26, males = 149.38, no significant difference. Otherwise the baby seems to be doing just fine. I need to gain more weight though and I will be talking to the endocrinologist about this topic.
